iTunes, one of the popular free music player and organizer for ipod from Apple has released a new version with minor enhancements.

iTunes has an internet radio option available. It has got Sound enhancer that gives crisp quality audio output. One more good feature is the search box. It is having real-time search which means once you type few letters, iTunes gives the real-time songs matching your criteria. For sharing your music, iTunes can look for other copies running across a network and you can then listen to other people’s music.

iTunes also has video support through embedded QuickTime player which means it supports all formats that Quicktime supports. Quicktime Player is also included in the installation package of iTunes.

Audio can be encoded in the Apple Lossless format. This format lets you import music into iTunes with almost 50% reduction in file size with no loss of quality. Podcast support is included which allows you to subscribe to podcasts and have them in sync with your iPod.

iTunes 7 now supports ‘iTunes Plus’. It is a library of songs available for download without DRM and a higher bitrate audio. This version supports the facility to manage your movie rentals (US only) and other enhancements.
